The mountains in the background are Dom and Täschhorn (4,491 m). They belong to the Mischabelhörner group of the Pennine Alps in Switzerland. A trail sign in the foreground points the way to Gorener Glacier, and Mount Rosa Hut. To get to the hut you follow the trail and hike for about about 1 1/2 hours to end of the Gorner ridge. The trail then turns sharply to the right to cross the glacier over to the hut.
